How Christmas Delivery Works in West Des Moines

  • Christmas 2026 falls on Friday, December 25. Plan on shipped baskets by mid-December and florist delivery for anything ordered December 21–24.
  • Inside West Des Moines, same-day florist delivery is usually available when you order early in the day.
  • For addresses farther out in Polk and Dallas Counties, a shipped gourmet basket ordered a few days ahead is the more reliable choice.
  • Smaller businesses often close for the week of Christmas, so send workplace gifts by about December 18.
  • Winter in West Des Moines is cold and snowy, so fresh fruit shouldn't sit outside. Pick a delivery time when someone's home, and leave an extra day when snow is in the forecast.
